The Castle Hotel is in a quiet little square in the Shropshire market town of Bishops Castle, midway between Ludlow and Shrewsbury. The hotel has eight delightful en-suite bedrooms, three bustling bars, and a fine oak panelled restaurant known as The Oak Room. Each of the three bars has its own individual character, some with open fires, and one with a terrace out into the garden. The Oak Room has a more refined air, away from the hustle and bustle of the bars. In the warmer months many guests prefer to dine in the superb hotel gardens. South facing and elevated, with vine-hung terraces and raised fish ponds, they have splendid views over the town to the surrounding hills. You can sit and watch the buzzards and hang gliders soar, with a glass of something cooling to hand. The Castle's kitchens produce modern pub food that is healthy, hearty, flavoursome and fresh - and very good value. The hotel has a comprehensive wine list and there are usually at least five real ales on tap in the bars. You are in an eighteenth century four star inn with good food, panoramic views, fabulous gardens and one of the finest selections of real ales in Shropshire.Set in a quiet square well away from passing traffic Close to Powis Castle, Ludlow, Church Stretton, Shrewsbury and Wales All bedrooms en-suite, TV, tea and coffee making facilities etc. Three bars and an oak panelled restaurant serving local produce We are a Four Star Inn and have been recommended by The Good Pub Guide for fifteen years continuously Fabulous beer garden with panoramic views of the Shropshire Hills Three crackling log fires in the cooler months Children and well behaved dogs welcome
